Long time No see

Wow it's been a long time since I last posted here... I have been unfaithful and have to admit to having a new Blog, and *whispers* it's not on Blogger... but Wordpress

Last year we were lucky enough to be offered the custodianship of an amazing Lodge, and of course we accepted .

The Under Gardener's Lodge

The Under Gardener's Lodge was built around 1841, though to be honest we only received the keys  at the beginning  of June 2011; I know such a long time to wait ...
We were finally able to move in at the end of July 2011, after some redecoration and some initial repairs had taken place.

You are very welcome to come over and have a look around - see the wonderful place that I get to live.  (just click the link above)

It has meant that I have not done a great deal of travelling around over the last 12 months.  Hopefully that may change over the next few months.

Until then I will try and post some more catch up images of places I have been and even of the place I live now...

Scot land Pics

As I mentioned, I am just going to post a few more of the pics from the Scotland trip... and then move on to new places.

so what to do

I seem to be soooooooooooo busy and never have any time at the present, However I am still here and wanting to share...

So what I shall do is just post the rest of my Scottish images... and then move on to others.. of course I will say where in the UK they have been taken, but sadly not much more... that's what really takes the time.

Scotland Day 3

So off we headed ... cross country and then down was the plan...

We made our way down to Loch Ness, stopping of at Castle Urquhart, and even though the weather was not great we managed to spend a fantastic few hours exploring the ruins and taking in the scenery.

and the obligatory cup of tea

sadly we didn't get to see much of Nessie that day....

but we did stop off at Fort Augustus ....

And the Caledonian Canal .... which was rather interesting......and while there we did pop into the Visitors Centre... I don''t think the review does it justice... it was far worse than that.. but the canal itself and watching the boats come and go was very interesting

After which we headed down to to our next overnight stop in the splendid Gelngary Castle on the banks of Loch Oich

We dressed for dinner, was was a wonderful 7 course meal, and then spent the rest of the evening in the sitting room, being waited on.  Of course we had to taste the local tippple, would have been rude not too!!
